In a global survey of data center reliability conducted by Technology Intelligence Consulting (ITIC), results showed that Lenovo, Cisco and IBM came out at the top of the pack in reliably and server downtime. This survey concluded that Lenovo tech support and the x86 ratings are among the best in the industry followed by Cisco and IBM. Whereas, HPE ProLiant servers and Oracles SPARC and x86 hardware and Solaris reliability continued to decline for the fifth year in a row.
Highlights of the study include:
- Lenovo x86 servers achieved the highest reliability ratings among all competing x86 platforms.
- Users rated Lenovo tech support best among all major OEMs
- Downtime costs now average more than $1 million per year
- 66% of businesses have been affected by down time. Meaning, the reliability requirement has gone up and so have the amount of dollars lost from outages as workloads increase.
